PRO:

1)  THE TRADITIONAL VIOLENT CRIMES SHOULD BE PUNISHED APPROPRIATELY, AND SOMETIMES SEVERELY.  I DO NOT SUPPORT MANDATORY SENTENCES HOWEVER.  LET'S BE SMART ON CRIME INSTEAD.  IT HORRIFIES ME THAT THE USA INCARCERATES A GREATER PERCENTAGE OF ITS CITIZENS THAN ANY OTHER NATION.  anonymous

2)  I think we should  not be tough on non-violent offenders, it is not economically prudent to incarcerate taxpayers who have made mistakes.  anonymous
